THE spot price of zinc benefited from a combination of strike action in Africa and uncertainty following the fallout of the recent Chinese earthquake. Meanwhile zinc miners on the Aussie bourse reflected the upward trend.

One out of three not so good at West Seahorse

3D OIL plans to suspend its West Seahorse-3 well, in VIC/P57, offshore Gippsland, as a future producer. The company found an eight-metre oil column in the Top Latrobe reservoir, but two other prognosed oil accumulations came up dry.
